Sharp LC22DV27UT 22-Inch LCD HDTV (With Built-In DVD Player)
At last! A great alternative to Toshiba’s LCD/DVD combos. For those of you familiar with these HDTV models, there haven’t been many alternatives to the Toshiba LV series for a long time. Because of that, I was eagerly awaiting the release of the 22-inch Sharp LC22DV27UT.
After using it for a few weeks, I realized the Sharp LC22DV27UT was more than a great alternative. To begin with, I was very grateful for the great audio output. The audio was loud enough that I didn’t need to plug it into external speakers (I use it in my home office which is a small room).
The Sharp LC22DV27UT can play back HD video in 720p and 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time. Connectivity side, this model comes with an HDMI output, a VGA output, a multitude of audio jacks among others. This TV may not compare to many large high-end HDTV models, but it does play HD movies quite well. When playing DVDs on it, images were vibrant and crisp. It also has a wide range of settings where you can tweak it to your liking.
Look, wise, the Sharp LC22DV27UT sports a dumb and modern look. The front has mostly a glossy black finish with the speaker bar located below the screen. The DVD unit is hidden behind the unit (of course) where the slot is located towards the right side of the screen. Overall, the 22-inch Sharp LC22DV27UT has proven to be an excellent choice for occasional use in small spaces such as your bedroom, kitchen, office, or showroom. Its great price, coupled with good performance and feature set, propelled it to the top of the best-selling list in this category. As of this writing, it sells for around $279 per unit.
