What You Must Know About the Shaun T Insanity Workout Program
Last year (2009), Beachbody launched the Shaun T’s Insanity Workout Program. The workout program includes 10 bodyweight cardio and resistance DVD workouts organized over a total 63-day workout program.
Unlike the P90X, which is equivalent in intensity, Shaun T Insanity focuses directly on bodyweight training involving nothing but gravity and the will to do daily routines.
Shaun T Insanity is built around high intensity intervals with short breaks in the water, typically around 30 seconds, with longer durations of intense cardio activity. You should know that the Shaun T Insanity training program is very high impact. Good shoes are a must and perfect form is absolutely required.
Nutritionally, there is no need to “diet” when following Insanity workouts. The 10 DVDs come with a nutritional guide indicating what can and should be eaten every day, 5 times a day. With some workouts allowing an individual to burn upwards of 800-100 calories, there is no reason to skimp on food.
Eating balanced portions 3-5 times a day is absolutely essential for successful high intensity training.
The best way to see the program is in 2 phases over 63 days. The first month are the “regular” training sessions ranging from 30 to 40 minutes. The second month and the remaining half add up to 20 minutes (approximately 45 min to an hour each workout) in an all new group of workouts aptly named “MAX”.
