An American television cartoon series, SpongeBob SquarePants, produced by Nickelodeon, is the world’s leading children’s animated television show. The show first aired on Nicktoons in 1999 and has now become one of the greatest anime series of all time. The series chronicles the idyllic life of a sea sponge named SpongeBob Squarepants, who lives in Bikini Bottom, a storybook town at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The hugely large audience that has grown since the show has been nothing short of spectacular. The audience age difference is not limited to just one demographic group. This popularity was the catalyst for thousands of products advertising the SpongeBob character. These products range from action figures to children’s pajamas. Imation Electronics Products in 2007, and under the Npower brand, partnered with the franchise and introduced themed digital cameras, DVD players, and even flat screen TVs! SpongeBob SquarePants and Lego is one of the best known and most successful merchandising partnerships in the world. These Lego sets have joined the ranks of other themed Lego sets such as Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones!
